How to Get Started in Roblox

Roblox is one of the most popular games out there. If you’re not playing it yet, chances are that your friends are pressuring you to get started. If that’s the case, this article is for you. In this article we will explore the 5 steps you can take to get started in Roblox. Setting you out on your journey into this vibrant, varied world that is brimming with games, community and excitement.

Step 1: Create Your Roblox Account

First things first, you’re going to need an account if you want to hop into Roblox.

To make your account, simply head on over to the official Roblox website (at www.roblox.com) or download the Roblox app. The app is compatible with all major devices, so I’d suggest going that route, as you’ll need the app to play anyway!
Once it’s loaded, click “sign up”. Then follow the steps to enter your information, username and finally verify your account via email.
Be sure to choose your username carefully, as it is what will represent you in the virtual world. But don’t worry too much, you can change your display name easily in the game.

Step 2: Learn the Basics 

Now that you have your account, it’s time to load in!
When you first load in, Roblox can be a little bit overwhelming. There are loads of menus, lots to do, and lots of people running around. But don’t worry. It’s all very simple.
First get to grips with the basic controls. 

If you’re playing on a computer or laptop those controls are:

* WASD to move. 
* Spacebar to jump. 
* Left mouse button to interact.
* Right mouse button to move the camera.
* And shift to run.

But if you’re playing on another device it’s worth taking a look at the menu or taking the tutorial to figure out how to play!
Most games you join will have a tutorial and introduction on how to play, but getting to grips with the basic controls will make it easy to jump into any Roblox experience.

Step 3: Explore Popular Games

With all the basic out the way, it’s time to explore!

Roblox is a game of games—offering thousands of experiences which vary across genres, creators and quality. There are a lot of great ones, but there’s also a lot of trash—so be ready for that!

A good place to get started is to navigate to the Games section on the homepage and browse through the “popular” category. This will show you some of the best, most polished and most played experiences on the platform. 

Games like blox fruits, adopt me and blade ball swords are a good place to start!

I encourage you to jump into a few of these for some quick play sessions to get to grips with how varied Roblox is. You may even find a game you fall in love with!

Step 4: Connect with Friends and Join Groups

This may be your first time in Roblox, but that doesn’t mean you have to do it alone!
Chances are, you have some friends who already play Roblox. If so, reach out to them and ask them for their account details so you can add them as a friend. 

When they accept you can jump into experiences together!

Whether your friends are online or not, you can also join Roblox groups. Simply head over to the “Groups” section of the website and search for groups based on your interests—like popular tv shows, anime, games, hobbies and more. Join these groups to make some new friends!

Step 5: Explore Roblox Studio

Finally, if you’re feeling creative you can check out Roblox Studio!

This is the place where all Roblox games are made. While we don’t recommend doing this before you’ve at least tried a few games within Roblox, it can be rewarding to make your own experiences and publish them. You can even earn yourself Robux doing so!
To access Roblox Studio you need to download it from the Roblox website.
