The game has 艾尔林星球上的居民淳朴、善良、与世无争，可是他们脚下的这片土地却贫瘠、荒凉。沙漠、丘陵、沼泽遍布整个大陆，夏季炎热短促，冬季寒冷漫长，其余时间天气变化很快，甚至短短几天就会经历严寒和酷暑的交替。这片土地上的人民世世代代善良地、努力地生存着，世世代代忍受着这一望无际的苦难。
不知道从什么时候起，传闻在某片大陆的角落发生了一次剧烈的爆炸，从那时候起，一些时空裂隙出现在艾尔林星球上。又过了不知道多长时间，这些时空裂隙中产生了一种从未有人见过的能量核心，其中蕴含着无穷无尽的奥术能量。很快，人们就发现这些剧烈、强大、不稳定的奥术能量竟然可以生化万物，具有一种化腐朽为神奇的力量。这些能量核心聚集的地方，沙漠变为千里沃土，丘陵上盛开了鲜花，沼泽化作溪流。定居在那里人们已经忘了严寒与酷暑的感觉，尽情享受着四季如春、风调雨顺的天气。奥术之核，第一次将希望与生机带给了这片土地。

游戏属于回合制小队战术类，一共六个关卡，每一关有一定的回合数限制，玩家要在限制的回合数内收集地图上所有的奥术之核。
玩家可以从8个基础职业中选择队员组建小队，每个职业有不同特色的职业天赋，随着玩家升级，可以解锁8种进阶职业。玩家可以尝试开发多种人物BD，探索丰富的套路配合通关游戏。
后期还可以不断探索各种强力的配合套路，不断挑战在尽可能短的时间内通关，甚至挑战极限尝试一回合通关。
