It tells the story of how a group of members of the Eighth Route Army work team, represented by Yu Mengnian, initially established anti Japanese democratic base areas from March 1, 1938 to March 1, 1939, under heavy encirclement by Japanese and puppet enemies. They engaged in armed struggle against fascist aggressors while organizing production to create material conditions for the military and civilians.
1938 combines various game elements such as turn based chess, RPG, and simulation management to showcase the historical realities faced by the Eighth Route Army during the Anti Japanese War from multiple perspectives.
